No tsunami threat to Marianas from New Zealand earthquake

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.1 that occurred 706 km NE of Opotiki, New Zealand at 10:49 p.m. (ChST), with a depth of 33.0 km.

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is NO tsunami threat at this time to Guam or the Marianas.

This will be the only statement issued unless additional information is received.
