No tsunami threat to Marianas from Russia earthquake


The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.5 that occurred 219km SSE of Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia at 12:49 p.m. (ChST), with a depth of 56.7km.

As advised by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there is NO tsunami threat to Guam or the Marianas.

This will be the only statement issued unless additional information is received.
