No water down south

Concerned citizens from the southern part of Guam, such as Merizo, are voicing their issue on a lack of water.

Saying that despite the Guam Waterworks Authority claiming to have fixed the issue over earlier in the week, their residents have yet to see any results.

In an interview on Newstalk K57 with Patti Arroyo, Miguel Bordallo–General Manager of the GWA explains what happened, “We were trying to rebuild that and we had a pump issue the … treatment plant … capacity and when that happened, that was the beginning of the outages on, I think on Monday and then so the crews worked all day yesterday to replace that. They finally got the pump changed out and the plant restored to full capacity late last night.”

Although the plant was restored to full capacity last night, residents did not get water in their areas until this morning, Umatac being the last in line to get water.

Bordallo says that currently all water lines have been restored, but higher areas in Umatac and Inarajan may have low water pressure, which line crews are monitoring.
