NWS: High Surf Advisory from This Evening Till Sunday Morning


Guam – The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf  Advisory that will take effect at 6 pm this evening [Thursday] and last until 10 am Sunday morning.  

The notice from the NWS states that increasing north swells and wind waves will produce hazardous surf along north facing reefs beginning this evening.

The surf is expected to become hazardous, rising to 7 to 9 feet this evening along north facing reefs and then rising to 8 to 10 feet by tomorrow, Friday and Friday night.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions

The NWS advises residents to avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those along north facing reefs as rip currents are life threatening.
