Guam – The National Weather Service has issued another High Surf Advisory this week. It takes effect Monday at 6am and will last through Tuesday morning at 6 am.
According to the Weather Service Advisory, north swells will increase overnight Sunday until surf reaches hazardous levels Monday morning.
North swells are creating surf heights on north facing reefs of 6 to 8 feet Sunday night. The NWS predicts surf height will grow to 7 to 9 feet by Monday morning.
Surf of 9 feet is considered hazardous. The surf is expected to remain hazardous until early Tuesday morning.
This surf will also cause a high rip current risk for north facing reefs.
The NWS advises resident to avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those along north facing reefs as rip currents are life threatening.
