NWS: High Surf Advisory in Effect Until 10 am TUESDAY


Guam – The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory for Guam and the CNMI  which will be in effect until 10 am TUESDAY.

The NWS says the high surf is being produced by a large north swell which is bringing hazardous surf to north facing reefs today [Monday] through tomorrow morning.

THE NWS says we can expect hazardous surf of 7 to 9 feet today through early Tuesday along north facing reefs.  The surf should diminish to 6 to 8 feet
Tuesday morning.

The high surf can produce dangerous rip currents which are life threatening.

Precautionary/Preparedness actions:

Avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those along north facing reefs as rip currents are life threatening.
