Guam – The National Weather Service’s High Surf Warning expired this morning at 6am [Wednesday], but a High Surf Advisory remains in effect.
The High Surf Advisory remains in effect until this coming Sunday at 6 pm.
NORTH FACING REEFS:
A High Surf Advisory means hazardous surf of 10 to 14 feet will continue to pound north facing reefs throughout this morning [Wednesday]. The surf will gradually subside to between 9 and 13 feet by this evening.
WEST FACING REEFS:
Along west facing reefs surf will be in the range of 10 feet today and should subside below hazardous levels to between 6 and 8 feet by Friday morning.
However, the NWS warns that surf along north facing reefs will remain hazardous for the rest of the week.
Avoid venturing near exposed reefs and beaches, especially those along north and west facing reefs as rip currents are life threatening.
