Guam – The National Weather Service has issued a Small Craft Advisory which takes effect this evening at 6 pm and last until 6 am Monday morning.
The notice from the National Weather Service states that winds and seas are expected to become hazardous for small craft tonight [Thursday] through the weekend as a shear line moves into Marianas waters.
A Small Craft Advisory means that seas 10 feet or greater and sustained winds of 22 knots or higher are expected to produce
conditions hazardous to small craft. combined seas will build to 10 to 11 feet tonight…and reach 12 to 13 feet friday through
saturday. at the same time…winds of 20 to 25 kt are expected.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in these conditions. if travel
by boat is necessary. Exercise caution, especially when entering or leaving harbors and inlets and near reef lines.
Wear flotation gear.
