Guam – The National Weather Service has issued a Small Craft Advisory for the waters around Guam which begins this evening [Monday] and lasts through Wednesday morning.
The NWS says large swells entering the area combined with wind generated waves will cause sea heights to increase from 6 to 8 feet today to between 9 and 10 feet by this evening.
The Small Craft Advisory takes effect at 6 pm this evening and will last until 6 am Wednesday.
* Seas of around 10 feet are expected this evening and remain that way until wednesday morning.
A small craft advisory means that seas 10 feet or greater are expected to produce conditions hazardous to small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in these conditions.
If navigation is unavoidable, exercise caution, especially when entering or leaving harbors and inlets…and near reef lines. Wear flotation gear.
