Rudy Quinata has been found guilty of the murder of former Humatak mayor Daniel Sanchez.

A sentencing will be determined at a later date.

However, the jury was hung and did not reach a decision relative to the charge of aggravated assault and the special allegation of possession or use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

Prosecuting Attorney Leonardo Rapadas stated they intend to pursue those charges in a different trial.

The defense argued Joyner Sked alone, who was convicted earlier, had killed the late mayor. The prosecution argued the evidence pointed to Quinata as well, as the late mayor’s body was found in Quinata’s residence.

It also does not ban abortions after a heartbeat is found if the fetus causes health complications to its mother.

A man was shot by a GPD officer in the Harmon Loop Road-Route 16 intersection in the early morning hours at the end of a high-speed chase, according to officials for the Guam Police Department and the Office of the Attorney General.

The Independent Investigative Team is investigating the officer, who has been placed on administrative leave.

Last week, Guam Environmental Protection Agency (Guam EPA) identified 5 polluted beaches.

They are (1) North of Hagat Marina, south of Chaligan Creek, (2) West Hagatna Bay - Park, (3) First Beach, (4) Talofo'fo' Bay, and (5) Toguan Bay.

According to Guam EPA, "Swimming, fishing or playing in unsafe waters may result in minor illnesses such as sore throats or diarrhea. It may also result in more serious illnesses such as meningitis, encephalitis, or severe gastroenteritis."

Children and the elderly are more vulnerable to the effects of polluted water.
