Off-duty police officer arrested for unlawful discharge of firearm

On Monday, October 19, 2020, officers assigned to the Dededo Precinct Command investigated a shooting call that occurred in Chalan Karetan Trosso, Dededo.

Preliminary police reports suggest that around 1:25 am, GPD units responded to the shooting call at Chalan Karetan Trosso, in Dededo. Officers learned from surrounding neighbors that 30-year-old Matias Dillon Oilouch Lizama, an off-duty police officer with the Guam Police Department, was involved in a verbal argument and is suspected to have discharged several shots from his firearm.

Lizama was later transported to the Dededo Precinct Command where he was later arrested for unlawful discharge of a firearm.

He was subsequently booked and released and has been placed on administrative leave by Chief of Police Stephen Ignacio. This case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution and GPD’s Internal Affairs Section for an administrative investigation.
