Officers fire guns as Jeep rams police vehicles; 2 arrested

On Sunday, May 9, 2021, at around 3:53 am, patrol officers from the Central Precinct Command pursued a Jeep Wrangler that was reported stolen from the Tamuning area.

Officers from the Tumon-Tamuning Precinct Command and the Dededo Precinct Command assisted as the stolen jeep traveled from Maina, Tamuning, Harmon, Dededo, and Yigo.

While in the Chalan Koda area in Dededo, the Jeep had rammed two (2) marked patrol vehicles. Two (2) officers from the Central Precinct Command and one (1) officer from the Tumon-Tamuning Precinct Command discharged their firearms at the Jeep, however, the Jeep had managed to flee the area.

The Jeep was later located parked by a home on Chalan Emsley in Yigo. Officers were able to locate the occupants of the Jeep within a home on Chalan Emsley.

26-year-old // Luis Parteko Camacho // male was arrested for the following offenses:

-Theft of a Motor Vehicle
-Reckless Driving
-Aggravated Assault
-Assault on a Police Officer and
-Eluding a Police Officer

He was subsequently booked and confined at the Department of Corrections.

20-year-old // Leilani Kaitlyn Wright // female was arrested for the following offenses:

-Burglary to a Vehicle
-Assault on a Police Officer
-Resisting Arrest
-Criminal Facilitation and
-Guilt Established by Complicity

She was subsequently booked and confined at the Department of Corrections.

Although this case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General, GPD’S Criminal Investigation Division and Internal Affairs are investigating this case as the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave.
