Public Auditor Doris Flores Brooks confirmed for PNC that her office is conducting an audit of FESTPAC.
Guam – The Festival of Pacific Arts or FESTPAC is being audited by the Office of Public Accountability.
Public Auditor Doris Flores Brooks confirmed for PNC that her office is conducting an audit of FESTPAC. Brooks says that there was no official request by anyone to conduct the audit but rather the audit was prompted by some “hotline tips”. Brooks says that given the amount of money that is involved with FESTPAC she wants to be sure that the right controls are in place to ensure money is spent according to Guam law. The Public Auditor says that it will likely be a two phase audit. She could not say what exactly the hotline tips were complaining about.
