OPA’s “Austerity Plan” Recommends $4.3M In Potential Savings for GovGuam


Guam – Public Auditor Doris Flores Brooks has submitted an “Austerity Plan” to Governor Eddie Calvo in accordance with the Governor’s order for agencies to submit cost reduction and revenue enhancement recommendations.

The OPA’s recommendations go beyond her office and suggest possible savings for GovGuam in general.

The letter details internal cost saving for the OPA of $85,000 or 7% of its current $1.2 million dollar budget.

In addition the OPA is recommending additional costs saving “totaling $4.3 million pending timely implementations” of recommendations made in recent audits of various GovGuam agencies.
