Guam – Around 3:30 p.m., the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) received a report from 911 dispatch of a reported unexploded ordnance (UXO) found on a construction site behind the Guam Main Facility Post Office, in Barrigada.
The Guam Police Department and the Guam Fire Department are on scene and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit in enroute.
There are no road closures or evacuations at this time but this may change depending on the assessment. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
GHS/OCD remind residents and visitors to practice the “3Rs of Explosive Safety” when any UXO is encountered:
- Recognize – when you may have encountered a munition and that munitions are dangerous.
- Retreat – do not approach, touch, move, or disturb it, but carefully leave the area.
- Report – call 911 and advise of what you saw and where you saw it.
