Osama Bin Laden is Dead, U.S. in Possession of His Body

Guam – The terrorist who claimed responsibility for the 9-11 attacks,  Osama bin Laden, is dead, and U.S. Forces are in possession of his body. In a speech to the nation from the White House SUnday night [Monday afternoon here on Guam], President Barack Obama announced that when he first took office he directed the CIA to make the capture or killing of bin Laden a top priority.

Last week the President said he had received solid evidence that bin Laden was hiding in a compound deep within Pakistan and he directed that an operation be launched to get him.

The President said that a small team of Americans carried out the operation. No American servicemen were harmed. There was a firefight and the American team killed Osama bin Laden and took his body into custody, said the President.

President Obama called it the most significant achievement to date in our efforts to defeat terrorism.
