Guam- The first annual College and Career Exploration Day was a smashing success at the Guam Community College today [Friday].

The event is sponsored by the GCC College Access Challenge Grant Program (CACGP) and raises awareness about College readiness while promoting post secondary education. Program Director Millie Afaisen says over 300 seniors from all five of Guam’s public high schools toured their campus. Some of the programs the students looked into include Automotives, Cosmetology, Fine Arts, Construction Trades and Allied Health. Afaisen also mentions the inspiring discussion she had with Counselor Peter Roberto last year that led to GCC’s first Career Exploration Day.

“Let’s try this out. Let’s bring our students here. Let’s showcase the new buildings on the campus. You know, the face lift we received” said Afaisen. “It is so awesome. The turnout is just great. The students are great. They are so spirited and they are excited to be here and we are going to do this again next year.”
