Paet Murder Suspects Enter Not Guilty Pleas


Guam – The wife of slain Air Force Staff  Sargent Nathan Paet and 3 others entered not guilty pleas Tuesday in a Las Vegas Court.

Guam native Nathan Paet was shot to death outside his Las Vegas home last month on December 1.

His wife Michelle, also born and raised on Guam, is accused of involvement in a conspiracy with 3 others to kill her husband in order to split nearly $600-thousand dollars in military benefits and life insurance money.

The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that 29 year old Michelle Paet;  31 year old Michael Rodriguez;  33 year old Corry Hawkins and 23 year old Jessica Austin entered not guilty pleas after being indicted by a grand jury last month on charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and burglary.

Las Vegas Police arrest reports have stated that Michelle Paet has admitted to having an affair with Rodriguez and that both have given full confessions to the murder.

The Journal-Review reports that the case will be reviewed later today by the District Attorney’s Death Penalty Committee because aggravating factors in the case may lead prosecutors to seek the death penalty for some or all of the defendants.

All four defendants to remain jailed without bail at the Clark County Detention Center.
