The Palau Ministry of Health (MOH) is monitoring another suspected COVID-19 case in the Pacific nation.

According to a release from the Ministry, the Person Under Investigation was recently admitted and isolated at the Belau National Hospital (BNH).

The PUI arrived in Palau from Guam on March 16.

MOH is now conducting an investigation to identify any potential exposures. Meanwhile, the patient’s specimen will be sent to the Guam Public Health laboratory for testing on Thursday, April 2.

“The public is advised to remain calm and to continue to practice preventive measures including proper handwashing and coughing/sneezing etiquette, practice social distancing, and staying away from others when sick,” Palau MOH said in a release.

The Ministry is also urging those who arrived in Palau from COVID-19 affected areas to monitor their health and practice self-quarantine at home.
