300

Guam – Senator Ben Pangelinan  has introduced a bill to transfer a piece of property controlled by the Airport Authority to the Chamorro Land Trust Commission [CLTC].

Bill # 14 would transfer title of  the plot currently occupied by a fuel service station which owned and operated by the South Pacific Petroleum Company.

South Pacific has a 30-year lease on the property from the Airport. The lease began in 1991. The gas station’s services are not directly related to airport operations.

According to the lease agreement between SPPC and the Airport, the gas station is authorized for the sale of convenience items, car wash facilities, and automotive and bus parking and servicing for public consumption and not specific or exclusive to airport operations.

A release from the Senator’s office states that the intent of the bill is to support the development of basic infrastructure of CLTC properties and to make them habitable.
