Pangelinan Calls on DPW To Comply With Law Requiring Pedestrian & Bike Lanes on New Road Construction Projects

Guam –  Senator Ben Pangelinan HAS Sent a letter to the Department of Public Works asking them to comply with Public Law  29-98 which mandates the incorporation of pedestrian and bicycle lanes in the construction of roadways. In a release the Senator is quoted as saying that:

“I introduced legislation two years ago, which is now Public Law 29-98 which enhances the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists on our roadways, by providing space for them on our roads. We have seen too many fatal pedestrian accidents and I believe that incorporating pedestrian and bicycle lanes will greatly reduce those incidents.”

Pangelinan also states that “With the many road projects the Department of Public Works is currently undergoing, it is important to comply with Public Law 29-98.”
