Guam – The Department of Public Works has released the following notice to expect delays on Route 17 in Windward Hills next Tuesday, December 27th when paving begins on a 500 foot stretch of the roadway there.This is th elong awaited test of the base course formula.

(December 23, 2011 – Tamuning, Guam) Please be advised that beginning Tuesday, December 27, 2011, the Department of Public Works (DPW) and its contractor Sumitomo Mitsui Construction will be laying pavement on approximately 500 feet in front of the Mini Camachile Tree Store in Windward Hills.
The project will require traffic lane changes and restrictions at various times during the course of the day. Traffic controls will be in place beginning at 6:00 a.m. and will continue through 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Motorists are advised to expect delays and to seek alternative routes when traveling in the area.
Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company was awarded this $5.4 million dollar project funded through the Federal Highway Administration.
The Department of Public Works thanks the public for their continued cooperation. For the safety of the driving public and the construction workers, motorists are asked to drive carefully and follow all road construction signs, and to take extra precaution especially during this holiday season.
