Guam – Pay Less Supermarkets is excited to announce the launch of the “Bag Your School” contest promotion. A $5,000 cash prize will be awarded to any elementary, middle, or high schools from public, private and DoDEA schools on Guam.
From August 4, 2014 – September 30, 2014, for each reusable bag a customer uses, one “bag point” will be added to a school of their choice. Customers will still receive a 5¢ rebate.
The school that accumulates the most bag points will win the $5,000 prize.
“The ultimate goal is to get children and their families in the habit of continuing to use reusable bags every time they shop. We hope that through this contest, customers will remember to bring their reusable bags, says,” Kamerin Pereira, Pay Less Community Relations Coordinator.
The Pay Less “Bag Your School” contest is just one component of the new program, M0B Kids. The campaign, which is an expansion of Mission Zero Bags, aims to educate and encourage “green” healthy habits of change in the younger generation.
The M0B Kids campaign will feature exciting things such as the “Plastic Isn’t Fantastic” puppet show by Marine Mania and Sharksmade, M0B reusable lunch bags and water bottles, giveaways, and weekend sampling.
“Its important to keep our kids involved in the green movement because it can engage them in active participation today, and better prepare them for the choices they will make in the future,” says Kathy Sgro, Executive Vice President of PayLess Markets.
