PBS KIDS GO! WRITERS CONTEST 2013
PBS GUAM/KGTF Channel 12 announces its annual PBS KIDS GO! WRITERS CONTEST, designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands-on, active learning. The contest, made possible in part by financial support from Easy Student Publishing, encourages
children in grades K- 3 to celebrate creativity by submitting their original stories and illustrations. For the LOCAL contest, PBS GUAM has opened this year’s contest to include 4th and 5th grade entries.
The winners from the local contest (K – 3) will be sent to the U.S. for national competition.
The contest begins on January 28 with story submission deadline of March 8, 2013.
BE BIG. GIVE BIG WITH CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG
lt’s a double celebration this Valentine’s Day as PBS Guam/KGTF Channel 12 presents its 3rd Annual Be Big, Give Big with Clifford the Big Red Dog event at Macy’s ChiIdren’s Department at the Micronesia Mall on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 10:30 A.lVI. to 2:30 P.M. The public can
look forward to a funfilled time for young children. There will be story hours, nail polishing, temporary tattoos, arts and crafts, and coloring sheets available FREE! Also get a chance to meet the beloved Clifford the Big Red Dog.
PRODUCTION OF I KNOW GUAM SERIES
PBS GUA|Vl’s local produced show, I Know Guam, is in production of the Elrd episode scheduled to air in late January/early February 2013. The episode will focus on the Old Guam Legislature building and the Lujan House.
The “I Know Guam” series premiered on August 24 with Pagat ancient village and Pagat caves as the first subject. Each of the episodes is hosted by various teenage guests who provide a brief history of the different sites, explain the significance and promote continued preservation. Each
episode’s host will be of different ethnic origins to reflect contemporary Guam’s multicultural make-up.

The program is written and produced by Baltazar Aguon, PBS Guam producer, with funding in part by the Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency, Government of Guam, Office of the Governor, the National Endowment of the Arts and the Guam Preservation Trust. The program is also underwritten in part by Community First Federal Credit Union, the Galaìde Group and the Guam Visitors Bureau.
FALL IN LOVE WITH PBS GUAM/KGTF CHANNEL 12 PLEDGE DRIVE
February is the month of LOVE and PBS GUAM/KGTF Channel 12 wants the community to FALL lN LOVE with public television and tune in on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 7:00 to 12:00 A.M. for the LIVE Broadcast of the station’s pledge drive from Tu’Re Café in East Bay. Pledge night activities include receiving phone pledges or donations, local entertainment, a karaoke contest and trailers of upcoming programs.
