Locally renowned photographer Victor Consaga shares his love for photography, nature, and teaching for this Saturday’s upcoming event at the Valley of the Latte.

Victor Consaga is a locally renowned photographer in Guam. He specializes in wedding photography and portraits and shares his knowledge with aspiring photographers, teaching an Introduction to Photography class at the University of Guam.

Like so many artists during the pandemic, Victor had to adjust to social distancing restrictions which impacted the way he usually photographs and interacts with people. However, Consaga said that though the pandemic was an adjustment at first, he continued being creative by photographing landscapes and Guam’s beautiful sunsets.

“Every day on Guam, there’s a sunset. So every day, I would go over to the beach and take sunset pictures and post them, and that was nice just to be out in nature and fresh air— soaking up some sunshine,” Consaga said.

Now that social distancing restrictions have slowly begun to lift, Consaga is combining his love for photography, nature, and teaching for this Saturday’s Photo Walk Tour at the Valley of the Latte.

The photo walk tour will last roughly 2 hours, during which time participants will learn different photography techniques while touring various sites throughout the Valley of the Latte.

Participants will also learn how to utilize their smartphones for photography and navigate different settings, apps, and more.

“There’s a lot of avid amateur photographers who want to learn how to use their DSLR camera or their mirrorless digital camera, and there’s a lot of settings, menus, buttons, and sometimes it’s a little overwhelming, so I help them understand their cameras better, and I show them how to make the most out of using their phone for photography,” Consaga said.

The Photo Walk Tour will take place this Saturday, starting at 10 am at the Valley of the Latte. The tour is $45 per person, which includes a mini fiesta-style BBQ lunch plate. For more details, visit valleyofthelatte.com.
