Pickup Strikes Power Pole, 2 in Stable at GMH


Guam – A man and a woman were rushed to GMH this morning after the 2006 Chevy  pickup struck a concrete power pole along Chalan San Antonio in Tamuning.
The 2 are in stable condition at GMH this afternoon.

The accident occurred just before 6am in front of the Great National Insurance office, near the Elite Bakery. There were rain showers in the area at the time of the accident.

The front end of  the pickup was crushed by the impact. An Officer at the scene said the vehicle rolled back into the center lane after striking the power pole. Air bags did not deploy, he said.

Police closed all lanes, in both directions, from the bakery to the Golden Motel while they conducted their investigation.  The roadway was re-opened shortly after 9am.

The male operator of a 2006 Chevy Truck lost control and struck a concrete pole on Rt14 by Great National Insurance.  

The male operator and his female passenger were transported to GMH, condition unknown but officers on scene report serious.
