Guam police closed off a portion of Cross Island Road this morning after a pickup truck caught fire and spilled burning fuel across the road and into the bush.
It happened just before 6 a.m. along Route 17 in Santa Rita.
Witnesses say a woman saw sparks coming from the vehicle. She alerted the driver who got out safely, but fuel began to spill and caught fire.
The flames spread across the road and into the bush.
The Guam Fire Department quickly doused the flames and the road has since been reopened.
A portion of the Cross Island Road in Santa Rita was closed off this morning after a pickup truck caught fire. The pickup rolled backwards across the road and into the brush on the other side, starting a brush fire. No injury has been reported.
