Last year, about $60,000 was raised from the Pink Ball alone.
Guam – Pink Ball 2017 is just around the corner, with this year’s theme: Pink Rocks On.
The Pink Ball, an annual celebration of hope, compassion, and love will be held Saturday August 5th at the Dusit Thani Guam resort.
“This is actually our second year to host this event and we are also a presenting sponsor this year. So we’re really excited,” said Dean Huntsman, the General Manager of the resort.
For four straight years, the Pink Ball continues to support the Guam Cancer Care by raising funding and promoting awareness to aid Guam’s cancer patients.
“This is our fourth year and it’s been really great,” said Leah Beth Nahalowaa, the Chairwoman of the Pink Ball.
She added, “We’re growing. And that’s why we’re here at Dusit –they can accommodate up to 600 people, that’s our goal. There’s a lot of patients that are relying on us to do this, we are the biggest donor to Guam Cancer Care. So, if we stop doing this I’m sure there’s a lot of programs that will be affected.”
Last year, about $60,000 was raised from the charity ball alone.
The proceeds will stay on Guam through the Guam Cancer Care’s free professional support services to any Guam resident adversely affected by cancer.
“The proceeds do assist our programs here on Guam which helps support our local cancer patients as well as our screening and educational programs,” said Karina Quito, Education Program Manager of Guam Cancer Care.
