Guam – Piti Mayor Ben Gumataotao expects to move into new digs in September, the old USO facility down at the intersection of Marine Corps Drive and Route 11 to the Port.

For years, the Navy owned property was used by the USO for a restaurant and recreation. The United Seaman’s Service Club then took it over, but its been closed for more than a year now.

Mayor Gumataotao told PNC News that the Navy has agreed to lease the facility to him at no-cost. And he has big plans for the facility.

Mayor Gumataotao not only plans on moving his office there, but he will also move Piti’s senior citizen services into the facility and he plans on re-opening the restaurant, at which, he says he may do some cooking!
