Police officer arrested for sexual assault of minor


The alleged victim is 11 years old and known to the police officer.

Guam – A police officer is behind bars for allegedly sexually assaulting a female minor known to him.

Chief of Police J.I. Cruz has launched an internal affairs investigation against one of his own. According to Guam Police Department Spokesman Officer AJ Balajadia, the arrest of police officer James Norbert Muna, 55, came as the result of an investigation in which detectives followed up with a complaint at Healing Hearts Crisis Center.

It is alleged that Muna sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl. He was charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct, child abuse and family violence.

Muna, who has been with GPD for 19 years, was placed on administrative leave. He was booked and confined.
