Guam – The archdiocese of Agana has launched a restoration project to restore the bronze statue of Pope John Paul the second located next to the cathedral in Agana.
The restoration work is in preparation for the be-a-tification of the late pope. The statue is at least 25 years old and marks the holy father’s visit to Guam in 1981. The statue will be removed from it’s site temporarily as international bridge corporation and other local companies prepare to send it off to Thailand to be restored. Restoration work also includes upgrades to lighting features, landscape and rebuilding the statue’s base.
