Guam – 51 year old Eddie Cruz Taitano of Barrigada submitted his resignation at the Port of Guam this morning [Tuesday] effective immediately.
Taitano is the Port of Guam employee whose arrest last Thursday caused the Port of Guam to go into lock-down.
He was booked and confined last Thursday on a charge of “Illegal Possession of Schedule 2 Contraband (ICE).” He was magistrated on Saturday and released.

In a brief statement today, Port General Manager Mary Torres said:
“Mr. Taitano submitted his letter of resignation this morning effective immediately and his paperwork is currently being processed through the Human Resources Department.”
