Port employee tests positive for COVID-19


Port Authority of Guam General Manager Rory J. Respicio was notified this morning that an unvaccinated employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Port’s Contact Tracing Team immediately began identifying all close contacts at the agency and is coordinating the testing with the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services.

As of this morning, the Port identified 22 employees as potential close contacts of the employee with COVID-19.

Respicio said that out of the 22 potentially exposed employees, 19 are fully vaccinated and three are not vaccinated.

The Port has been aggressively working with employees to assist them in getting their vaccines.

As of August 9, 2021there are 286 Port employees, or 82% fully vaccinated. There are 7 employees partially vaccinated and 56 that are not yet vaccinated.
