Guam – Last month the 2010 JSB 1000 Champion Kousuke Akiyoshi was on Guam training and conditioning at the Leo Palace Resort for his MotoGP Testing for Team Repsol Honda this past weekend in Malaysia. He will be returning to join his fellow Riders this week as they prepare for the 2011 Season.
Takahashi Kamata the training coach for HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) will be training the riders. Kamata has been coming to Guam since 1990 when he was in charge of training the Yomiuri Giants then and this will be his 20th time here.
The 5 Professional riders will include Kota Nozane, a 16 year-old Phenom who is vying for a spot in the MotoGP Circuit. Ryuichi Kiyonari, the 2010 BSB (British Super Bike) 1000 Champion. Makoto Tamada, a MotoGP Rider. Shinichi Ito a MotoGP and JSB 1000 competitor and Tadayuki Okada, a MotoGP rider and Honda Racing Team Coach .
The Riders and Coaches will be at Cycles Plus Honda in Maite this Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm to take pictures and sign autographs. The public and all sport bike enthusiasts are invited to attend this event.
Guam’s sport bike enthusiasts will also be able to sign up for a rare opportunity to get instructional time and riding time with these Pros during the Riding Clinic coordinated by Cycles Plus Honda. This Riding Clinic will be held at the Guam International Raceway on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Space is limited so they can sign up early by contacting Shawn Aguilo at Cycles Plus at 472.8326.
