Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association president Mary Rhodes confirmed to PNC News that the Department of Public Health and Social Services has approved the organization’s guidelines to reopen bars.

The guidelines also update requirements for other sectors such as restaurants and salons to match CDC guidelines.

The guidelines include guidance on signage, use of masks, physical distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, ventilation, and use of communal spaces.

Rhodes said that the next stop is for Public Health to put the guidelines into DPHSS guidance memo format and send it to their legal team for review, after which the guidelines will be presented to the governor.

The guidelines are being sent for legal review today, so they can be presented to the governor in time for her anticipated transition to PCOR 3 this Friday.
