Public Health Reports Employee At Maria Ulloa Elementary Diagnosed With Active Case of TB

Guam – The Guam Department of Public Health is reporting that an employee at Maria Ulloa Elementary School in Dededo has been diagnosed with an active case of tuberculosis.

A release from the Department of Public Health states that the employee has been released from the school and will not be allowed to return to work until the employee has been medically cleared of the disease.

Public Health’s Bureau of Communicable Disease is working with school officials to identify all persons who might have come into close contact with the employee in order to ensure that they undergo TB screening.

Meanwhile, all faculty, staff and parents are being notified by letter and provided with information on the dates that TB screenings will be held.
