Guam – Guam Senatorial candidate Moe Cotton is reporting that his “Pick Moe Cotton” campaign sign has been stolen.
The sign has attracted attention because, in some minds, it conjures up images of slaves in the old south picking cotton.
Some have suggested that it is racist. Cotton has said it is not. He will replace the signs, but this time he says he’ll put it on the roof, away from the side of the road.
Posted on Facebook, the sign attracted nearly a half million hits. Its disappearance is sure to attract even more attention to Cotton’s low budget campaign for a seat in the Guam Legislature.
Cotton is running as a republican.
