Guam- Quality Distributors kicked off the Salvation Army’s holiday season with a donation of food items that is worth over $30 thousand dollars.
According to Assistant General Manager Ed Lai, this is the 12th year they have teamed with the Salvation Army. Aside from bags of rice and canned food, the donation also includes 60 pounds of ham and 10 turkeys that will be used to feed the homeless and the needy for the upcoming Thanksgiving meal the Salvation Army puts on every year.
“It is our 12th year so it is something we commit to every year” said Lai. “So in general it’s our commitment to always give back to the community, especially the less fortunate this year.”
Captain Mike Lutcher says they appreciate the help of Quality Distributors to give back to the community and those that need it most.
“I don’t think I have the words to share that can really express our gratitude because [Quality Distributors is] counting on the Salvation Army to distribute all this food to the community. It’s not the Salvation Army’s food, it’s the community’s food and we’re going to make sure that it gets out to the people who really need this.”
The Salvation Army still needs trays of stuffing, desserts and fresh fruits for the annual thanksgiving meal serving on Thursday at the Chamorro Village. For more information, call (671) 477-7671.
