Guam – A new magistrate judge has been appointed at the Superior Court of Guam.

The Judiciary announced that Chief Justice Katherine Maraman appointed Attorney Jonathan Quan to replace Magistrate Judge Alberto Tolentino whose second four-year term ended this week.

Quan was one of three candidates recommended by the Guam Bar Association for the position of magistrate judge.

“Quan has the character and integrity to serve as a judicial officer,” said Justice Maraman.

Quan was serving as an assistant attorney general at the Officer of the Attorney General in the criminal prosecution division and prosecuted several high profile cases such as the Blue House prostitution case, the Agababa murder trial, the Gargarita manslaughter case and the Crown Bakery kidnapping case, to name a few.
