Guam Guard takes over quarantine operations at Wyndham Garden and Santa Fe

The Wyndham and Santa Fe hotels have been awarded contracts to serve as GovGuam quarantine facilities.

All of the current occupants in quarantine at the Pacific Star are being moved out of that hotel today and into the Santa Fe and Wyndham Garden hotels.

The Hotel Santa Fe and Wyndham Garden have been awarded contracts from the General Services Agency to serve as quarantine facilities, according to a release from the Joint Information Center.

The transfer should be completed by the end of today.

Members of the Guam National Guard will take over quarantine operations.

GovGuam directors and employees who were previously assigned to the quarantine facilities will return to their agencies.

The 14-day mandatory quarantine remains in effect for all incoming travelers.

All incoming travelers are required to be placed in a government-approved quarantine facility.

GovGuam covers the cost of lodging and meals for returning Guam residents.

Non-residents will be required to pay for quarantine related expenses, including food and lodging, before being allowed access to their room.

This includes:

  • Any non-resident of Guam traveling to Guam for reasons other than the performance of essential governmental service functions, including but not limited to tourists and non-resident family members; and

  • Any member of the federal government or U.S. Armed Forces to include dependents traveling to Guam on official orders.
