Guam – A group calling itself “RaWR!” is planing a rally this afternoon at the Paseo Loop to demonstrate against what they believe to be the recent increase in acts of violence against women and others on island.

The event has been dubbed the “RaWR! Random Women’s Rally.” It takes place at 4 pm Friday at the Paseo Loop in Hagatna.

A release says that the purpose is to protest against violence in our community.

The release states:

“It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are from, your educational background, your income level. Random acts of violence happen to random
women and children right here on Guam.”

“It’s time we fight back with the Random Women’s Rally.”

The organizers are asking participants to wear red to the rally and to bring posters with messages against violence, rape and discrimination.

“Include POSITIVE messages of hope and action!”
