Guam – A random drug test was conducted at the Guam Police Department last week. The results are pending.

According to a release from GPD Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia,  “the Guam Police Department, working with the Department of Administration, drug tested police officers randomly throughout the department last week.”

Officer Balajadia says once the results are available, he’ll  release the finding.

“Currently we have no reports of officers using illegal drugs”, says Officer Balajadia, but “the chief knows random testing of officers is necessary to assure the public that he will not tolerate drug use.”

Balajadia also points out that “there is no longer an amnesty program that protects people within the department from disciplinary action”.

GUAM POLICE DEPARTMENT NEWS

TAMUNING –  The Guam Police Department, working with the Department of Administration, drug tested police officers randomly
throughout the department last week.

The Chief of Police reminds our officers that he has zero tolerance for drug use and there is no longer an amnesty program
that protects people within the department from disciplinary action.

Currently we have no reports of officers using illegal drugs however, the chief knows random testing of officers is necessary
to assure the public that he will not tolerate drug use.

Once the results have been made available to the department, I will release it’s finding.
