Early Voting Thru Next Monday; 50,978 Registered, Total Not Yet Finalized

Guam- The Guam Election Commission (GEC) has recorded over 2,300 in-office votes for the General Election.

Executive Director John Blas says he is expecting close to 3,000 votes by next week Monday, which is also the last day for in-office voting. Meanwhile, the deadline to register for the General Election ended on Friday, October 22, but the total number of registered voters is still being keyed in. Blas says so far, they have counted close to 51 thousand people.

“As of October 21, we are now at 50,978…so 50,978 registrations are currently what we have in the system” said Blas. “But again, we continue to key in registrations that were turned in by the registrars as of Friday last week.”

In the meantime, in-office hours to vote at the Guam Election Commission (GEC) this week are from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12 noon. The last day for in-office voting is Monday, November 1.

In addition, the GEC Board of Directors is scheduled to continue General Election  discussions this Thursday, October 28 at 4 pm.
