Guam – The Guam Visitors Bureau, along with the Pacific Islands Club Guam and United Airlines will host the inaugural Guam International Marathon set to take place on Sunday, April 7.
Runners can register online at www.guaminternationalmarathon.com, at the Pacific Islands Club in Tumon or at Hornet Sports in Tamuning. Registration will close on Wednesday, April 3.
Online registration is the most convenient, accurate and environmentally-friendly way to register with no additional fees. Registering online will ensure you receive a confirmation email that gives runners the opportunity to sign up for live race day results tracking through social media (Facebook and Twitter) and mobile phone devices. This way family and friends can track your progress during the race.
Over 1,700 runners have already registered, with over 1,000 of those coming from core visitor markets such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia and the United States mainland. More than 500 runners in total have registered so far to run the marathon, 400 in the half marathon, 300 in the 10K and over 400 in the 5K. Space is limited to 500 and 1,000 runners in the 10K and 5K respectively so if you are interested in participating event organizers are encouraging you to sign up soon.
Runners will receive a commemorative dri-fit race shirt as shown below by (L) Trina Cruz, Pacific Islands Club’s Marketing & Public Relations Manager wearing the half marathon, 10K and 5K race shirt and (R) Jacob Leon Guerrero, Pacific Island Club’s Community Sales Coordinator wearing the marathon race shirt.
