Guam – The island’s youth between the ages of four and 14 still have the opportunity to sign up for the second week of Guam Football Association’s Soccer in the Sun fun summer camp held at the GFA facility in Harmon.
In the first week, several dozen children registered for the summer camp, which is facilitated by selected members of the Matao, Guam Men’s National Football team, many of whom are also licensed coaches.

“The kids have really been enjoying themselves at the camp these past few days,” said Joshua Borja, GFA Football in the Community manager and summer camp organizer. “For a full morning, the kids are kept active by engaging in several different age-appropriate soccer drills and activities. They’re learning and re-learning the basic fundamentals of the sport while at the same time interacting with their peers in a fun, summer-camp environment.”
The second week of summer camp begins July 2. The sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration forms are available at the GFA main office. The cost to participate is $149 per child. Cash, check and credit card payments are welcome. The registration fee includes enrollment of the child in the week-long summer camp, a camp T-shirt and lunch catered by Terry’s Local Comfort Food Chamorro restaurant.
All youth interested in developing sports-related skills and staying active during the summer are encouraged to have their parents enroll them in the GFA summer camp program. First-week registrants are welcome to register again for the second week.
