The remainder of the 10,668 tax refund checks that were processed but not send out last Friday will be mailed today.

According to Adelup, all these checks were already processed and are being mailed for error-free returns filed on or before March 31, 2019.

All in all, the Department of Revenue & Taxation and the Department of Administration processed tax refund checks totaling approximately $24.4 million including refunds garnished to repay government debts for error-free returns filed on or before March 31, 2019.

Due to the thousands of income tax refund checks, not all of them were mailed last Friday although the majority of them were.

Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero announced last week that some $25 million in tax refund checks will be released by the end of last week, with the remainder of due tax refunds paid by Oct. 15.

This is a result of the $70 million in Section 30 funds that the administration received last week.

According to Adelup, those awaiting tax refunds will not have to wait much longer and the administration will be paying out, in short order, qualified A-status tax refunds filed to date, thanks to the cash boost from the receipt of the Section 30 funds.
