Guam – Senator Jim Espaldon attended the Tuesday night GOP fund raiser at the Fiesta Resort in Tumon, but his running mate Lt. Governor Mike Cruz did not.
Cruz and Espaldon lost their bid for the GOP Gubernatorial nomination in last Saturday’s primary election to Senators Eddie Calvo and Ray Tenorio.
Most other GOP leaders and candidates however were in attendance to welcome National Republican Party Chairman Michale Steele.
Senator Espaldon says he is not bitter by his defeat because he was in a political race among his friends and it was a race within the republican party.
Espaldon told PNC News “We have a mission of victory, its to ensure that the republican party puts their best feet forward. Eddie and Ray to take the lead and lead us to victory in November.”
Espaldon also said that its important that all republicans come together as a party to help Calvo and Tenorio win Adelup in November.
