The Republican Party of Guam has issued a statement denying that a Republican delegation met with Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio in Washington D.C.
According to the Republicans, Tenorio, during an interview with K57, said he met Guam Republican senators Wil Castro, Telo Taitague, Louise Muna, and other members of a Guam GOP delegation who also visited Washington to lobby for H.R. 1365.
But Adelup Chief of Staff Tony Babauta clarified that the meeting they were referring to was a meeting with federal Judiciary officials, not with the Republican delegation.
Babauta added that they were no longer in Washington D.C. when the Republican delegation arrived.
The Republican Party also questioned the comments made that Senate staff seem to be uneducated on the objectives of H.R. 1365.
Sen. Telo Taitague told the Patti Arroyo show this morning that the federal officials they met were knowledgeable about H.R. 1365.
