Residents from all over the island gathered at various stores to take advantage of this year’s Black Friday deals.
Right after being stuffed with turkey, barbecue, and other Thanksgiving fixings, hundreds of shoppers headed to a number of outlets and retail stores to get Christmas gifts for their friends and family.
For Shania, one of the early shoppers, Black Friday is an opportunity to get some nice things for her family and girlfriend.
When PNC asked what she plans to get, Shania answered: “Um, I dunno, like whatever they’re interested in right now. Like toys for the kids and stuff.”
And while going shopping on this day is an annual tradition for several people, some, like Amber, who would usually go with her grandmother, chose to pick up some presents on their own.
“I feel okay. Today’s okay. It’s not that crowded here,” Amber said.
She added that she isn’t too sure what gifts she’ll get her family just yet, but that she’ll decide once Christmas comes closer.
“It’s good. I love Christmas! It’s a time where everyone gets together, gets each other gifts, and spends time with family,” Amber said.
With all of these deals available, it can be tempting to buy whatever you see. But Julie, who decided to go shopping before her upcoming trip to the Philippines, advises to keep your budget in mind when looking for presents.
“For all the shoppers, just double check first whatever they need. Write it down and don’t just buy the one that they like. Buy the one that they need,” Julie said.
