Get ready for another traffic jam this Sunday at the intersection of Marine Corps Drive and Route 8 in Hagatna.

The re-surfacing was postponed because of a massive traffic back-up that occurred two weeks ago on Saturday when the work began.

This Sunday, motorists will not be permitted to turn on to Route 8 from Marine Corps Drive at that intersection. They will need to find another route towards Mongmong-Toto-Maite and Barrigada.

Guam police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao reports that officers will be stationed at the intersection Sunday when the work resumes.

“So again, it’s gonna start from the former Nissan Auto-City towards the Diego Building, closer to Feathers and Fin. That’s where you are going to see the different configurations of the road engineering. It may be tricky, but our officers will be there to direct the motorists. So again, plan you day accordingly. Anticipate the delays and anticipate being late for this. This is again to provide the safety to the crew so they can complete this project,” Tapao said

The roadwork begins at 6 am Sunday morning and will last until 6 pm Sunday evening.
